I received some new soft-plastic lures called SnapTails in the mail the other day. I was somewhat familiar with these new lures through a commercial I saw while watching a fishing show. To be honest, I was a little bit skeptical after seeing the commercial, but my opinion changed after getting my hands on them.
These lures are poured in the shape of an S and come packaged in six different colors with six corresponding snaps you can place on the end of the tail. These worm colors look good, and they come in either 4- or 6-inch models.
I took the SnapTail worm to some local water and put a 4-inch worm on a shaky-head jig. I threw the worm up into some shallow water to see how it moved. When the worm was in the water the tail was flat, but when it hit the bottom the tail snapped back into its S shape. I moved the worm some more and the tail did the same thing. Now I am thinking of all the different situations where this worm can really fire up some bass. You do have to pay attention to how you rig the worm to make sure the tail works right. After seeing this worm in the water, I would like to get some more of them.
I don’t think the SnapTail lures are available in stores yet, but you can order them online at http://www.snaptaillures.com. Give these lures a try because I know the fish haven’t seen anything like this before, and we know what that means.
Until next time, be safe out on the water!
